Coaching and mentoring
Coaching and mentoring has an important role in personal leadership development.
The London Deanery's Coaching and Mentoring Service has been created to put London's NHS doctors and dentists interested in receiving mentoring in touch with trained and experienced mentors who are supported in their roles. The coaching and mentoring programme enables you to work with your mentor in complete confidence about professional, work life balance or career issues. Your mentor will be trained and experienced. Click here to find out more about the Coaching and Mentoring Service.
All London NHS doctors and dentists are eligible to apply for mentoring, and in addition to the groups we usually offer funding to, we are currently able to offer fully funded mentoring for any doctor or dentist moving into a new leadership position.
To apply for a mentor, please click here. You will be taken to our confidential, secure online application form.
You will be offered a choice of mentors, and we will conduct a detailed telephone interview with each applicant to facilitate that choice.
Training in coaching and mentoring skills
Leadership often involves managing a team succesfully and coaching and mentoring skills can help this.
The Deanery Coaching and Mentoring Service is now able to offer coaching and mentoring skills training to groups and individuals. In order to attend, you will need to be an experienced educator employed by the NHS within London, a Darzi Fellow, an appraiser, or in a leadership position.
