The Inaugural London Conference: Engaging Junior Doctors in Quality and Safety Improvement

The Inaugural London Conference: Engaging Junior Doctors in Quality and Safety Improvement will take place on Thursday 29th March 2012.

This one day conference has been developed to promote the engagement of doctors in postgraduate training in quality improvement. This day will include interactive workshops on quality improvement methodology and thought-provoking plenary presentations from leaders in the field. The conference also provides a unique opportunity for doctors in postgraduate training to showcase their quality improvement work they have carried out in their trust or training organisation within the last year.  Engaging junior doctors in the business of service improvement can significantly improve the quality and safety of patient care.  Doctors in postgraduate training programmes are there at the front line of service delivery and have the capability, energy and enthusiasm to contribute to the transformation of the NHS.  This conference will help to engage, develop and harness this largely untapped potential.

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in quality improvement within the NHS in London. We particularly welcome doctors in postgraduate training programmes undertaking quality improvement projects and those with an interest in developing leadership amongst their junior clinical staff. This includes those developing teaching programmes on quality improvement projects (QIP) for trainees and those already involving doctors in postgraduate training in QIP within their organisations.
